Canadian Broadcasting Coporation Captures New York Festivals' Television Broadcaster of the Year Award

New York, NY | February 07, 2007

The prestigious New York Festivals’ TV Broadcaster of the Year Award was presented to the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) at the 2007 New York Festivals Awards gala and ceremony held February 2nd at NYC’s Broad Street Ballroom. 

The CBC took awards in over 30 categories in the International TV Programming and Promotion competition, culminating in eight Gold World Medals, four Silver World Medals, three Bronze World Medals and 16 Finalist Certificates. In October 2006, CBC won the New York Festivals Radio Broadcaster of The Year Award.

"CBC has impressed our judges with an extraordinarily high level of creativity and consistently outstanding production values," said New York Festivals’ CEO, Jimmy Smyth. "The socially relevant subject matter that forms the heart of virtually all their work distinguishes it with a gravitas that marks it as both moving and relevant."

A blue ribbon panel of judges from the global broadcast industry reviewed entries from 36 countries around the globe before selecting the following CBC-produced winners:
