The New York Festivals® International TV & Film Awards and the NAB Show® Unite to Shine the Spotlight on The 2011

The NYF TV & Film Awards Ceremony to Be Held at the NAB Show in Las Vegas from April 9-14, 2011.

New York, NY | October 20, 2010

Approaching its 54th year, the New York Festivals® (NYF) International TV & Film Awards and the NAB Show® unite to shine the spotlight on the 2011 World’s Best TV & Films™.  The strategic partnership enables NYF® to provide the annual International Television & Film Awards Show to 90,000 attendees at the annual NAB Show in Las Vegas from April 9 – 14, 2011, and enables the NAB Show to provide NYF winners and attendees a premiere global event for professionals who create and deliver the majority of the world’s content.

“I could not be more pleased that our two iconic brands will provide a more expansive platform for the presentation of NYF’s annual international award-winning work at the NAB Show, the world’s premiere event for content professionals. It will not only bring more attention to the ‘World’s Best TV & Films™’ and its creators, but will provide a huge ROI to those attending the awards ceremony,” said  James M. Smyth, CEO, New York Festivals & International Awards Group,  “It could not be a better blend.”

“We’re proud to complement the 2011 NAB Show with this premiere event, and we welcome the content professionals who will gather for next year’s NYF honors,” said Chris Brown, Executive Vice President of Conventions and Business Operations for NAB. “Every year, participants from a diverse array of content platforms make the pilgrimage to Las Vegas for the NAB Show, making it a natural venue for these prestigious awards.”

New York Festivals will also sponsor educational and inspirational opportunities including panel discussions with prominent award winning industry executives, networking opportunities, screenings of  2011’s “World’s Best TV & Films™,” as well as historical TV commercials from the past 60 years.  The deadline to enter the competition has been extended to November 5th to provide opportunities for others in light of the NAB Show and NYF partnership.  To enter online click here.

The 2011 Television & Film Awards is providing exciting new categories in response to world-wide creative trends, and to acknowledge expanding programming niches deserving recognition.  New categories include: Telenovelas; Best Sports Anchor; Best Sports Journalism; Best Sports Newscast; Animated Program; Choreography; Event Venue; Graphic Design; Special Events; and Online Educational Program.

In 2010, the New York Festivals Television & Film Awards GrandJury® selected ESPN, USA as the Broadcaster of the Year.  The Edge Picture Company, UK was selected Production Company of the Year.

“We are thrilled the NYF TV&F Awards ceremony will be held during the NAB Show; integrating NAB attendees and its representatives is the perfect marriage!” said Larry D. Kristiansen, VP Event Production for ESPN, USA.

Phil Blundell, Managing Director of The Edge Picture Company, UK, commented on the recent NAB/NYF partnership, “The New York Festivals is the world's most prestigious and celebrated international event for corporate film making - there is no doubt about that.  A well made corporate film is hugely powerful, capable of winning the hearts and minds of even the most cynical of audiences.  Invariably produced to the very highest of technical standards too, it's therefore a masterstroke to hold 2011's awards in conjunction with the world famous NAB Show in Las Vegas.

All entries in the 2011 competition will be judged online by NYF’s GrandJury® of active renowned award-winning international television and film producers, directors, writers, and other creative media professionals representing 35 countries.  NYF’s revolutionary online judging system ensures that each entry receives the proper amount of time in an environment free from outside distractions and unsolicited opinions.

The World’s Best TV & Films™ will be featured in the Showcase section of New York Festivals website and promoted by our network of international representatives in 74 countries.
